Jurassic Journey?
"One of the true highlights of the 1997 Ohio State Fair was our "Jurassic Journey" exhibit which featured the dinosaurs created by Sherm Byers of the Burning Tree Casting Company. The dinosaurs are very life-like and when placed in the natural wooded environment we created, they look fabulous.
The exhibit was located in a low traffic building on the far east of the grounds in the hopes of attracting more patrons to the area. The result was a ten fold increase in traffic through the building with fairgoers throughout the grounds asking "where is the dinosaur exhibit?", Not only were other vendors in the building happy with the increased traffic, but the sponsor we obtained for the exhibit was very pleased with the exposure they were receiving.
Because Sherm has so many different dinosaurs of varying sizes, he can be very flexible in filling exhibit space anywhere from 5,000 to 20,000 square feet. A self-made dinosaur expert, Sherm was on hand to answer questions and provided demonstrations of how his dinosaurs are made. In addition, he was very cooperative with the media which resulted in our generating excellant publicity both on television and in the newspapers.
Because of the outstanding success we enjoyed with the exhibit this year, we plan to work with Sherm in returning "Jurassic Journey" to the 1998 Ohio State Fair.
